Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany is confident his team can handle the absence of star striker Harry Kane as they face Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup round of 16 on Tuesday.
The England captain, who has already notched 20 goals this season suffered a thigh injury during Bayern’s 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

The setback rules Kane out for several weeks, although Kompany is optimistic about his potential return before the league’s winter break on December 22.
While addressing the situation, Vincent Kompany admitted that replacing Harry Kane’s impact directly would be a challenge but highlighted Bayern Munich’s depth, naming experienced stars like Thomas Müller, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sané, and young talents like Mathys Tel and Michael Olise as capable alternatives.
He also stressed that while Kane’s absence would alter the team’s approach, it wouldn’t weaken their attacking strength, emphasizing the need to adapt their strategy to maximize the squad’s talent.
With Bayern last lifting the German Cup in 2020 and struggling in recent campaigns, Kompany acknowledged the importance of the upcoming clash with Leverkusen and expressed confidence in his team’s ability to rise to the occasion.
