Norway moved to the brink of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a 4–1 win over Estonia in Oslo, their 10th victory in 11 matches as they edge toward a first finals appearance in 28 years.

After a cagey first half where both sides produced only one shot on target, Norway burst into life immediately after the interval.

Alexander Sorloth struck twice in quick succession with near-identical headers, finally breaking Estonia’s resistance.

Erling Haaland soon joined the party, nodding in a third before smashing home a volley for his 14th goal of the qualifiers.

Estonia managed a consolation through Robi Saarma, but the night belonged to Norway, who controlled the final stages with the job long since done.

The match also saw Andreas Schjelderup make an appearance despite off-field controversy dominating the build-up.

Norway will qualify automatically if Italy fail to beat Moldova later on Wednesday. If not, their final group match against Italy at San Siro will decide it.
