The Nigeria Premier Football League has confirmed that the 2025/26 season will end on Sunday, May 24, 2026, following the release of the full fixtures on Thursday.
Defending champions Remo Stars will begin their title defence on August 22 with a blockbuster home tie against 2022 winners Rivers United in Ikenne.
The Sky Blue Stars are coming off their first-ever NPFL triumph, having amassed 71 points last season.
The campaign will run for 19 weeks before a mid-season break from December 30 to January 6, with the January transfer window open from the 1st to the 30th.
The final day will see Remo Stars away to Bendel Insurance, Rangers International travel to Lagos to face Ikorodu City, Plateau United host Kano Pillars in Jos, and Rivers United welcome Katsina United.
The league body also confirmed ongoing plans to introduce VAR and secure new broadcast deals for next season, with referees already undergoing VAR training and clubs instructed to upgrade their stadiums to meet required standards.
