Ile Ife, Nigeria – The Chemical Engineering Department of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) is set to commemorate a significant milestone as it celebrates 55 years of impactful existence. The department will host a momentous event, featuring a book launch and the unveiling of a five-billion-naira (N5 billion) endowment fund, on Saturday June 28, 2025. This landmark occasion will take place at the Design Studio Auditorium, African Centre of Excellence, OAU, Ile Ife.
The event promises to be a gathering of distinguished personalities, industry leaders, and alumni, all coming together to honour the legacy of the department and its contributions to the field of chemical engineering. Professor Anthony Adegbulugbe, the esteemed CEO of Green Energy International, will chair the event, bringing his wealth of experience and insights to the proceedings.
Highlighting the day’s significance, His Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, will grace the occasion as the royal father of the day. The highlight of the event will be the keynote address by the distinguished Prof. Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka, Senior Special Adviser to the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB).
