The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has suspended former governor Gbenga Daniel and Hon. Kunle Folarin over alleged misconduct and anti-party activities.

APC state spokesman, Nuberu Olufemi, confirmed the suspension, explaining that it was based on reports from the wards of both members.

According to the state chairman, Yemi Sanusi, who presided over a State Working Committee (SWC) meeting on August 19 with 16 members present, the two were suspended indefinitely after failing to appear before disciplinary panels set up in their wards.

Sanusi said Ward 4 in Sagamu investigated Senator Daniel for alleged anti-party activities, while Ward 6 looked into allegations of gross misconduct and anti-party activities against Folarin. Both men reportedly ignored letters inviting them to appear before the committees, failed to send written defenses, and refused to attend hearings.

“Given their deliberate refusal to cooperate, the committees went ahead with the hearings, considered witness testimonies and documentary evidence, and resolved to suspend them indefinitely, pending further investigation,” Sanusi stated.

The party also accused the two of intimidating and harassing members to prevent them from cooperating with the disciplinary process, as well as using their influence to pressure members into withdrawing petitions against them.

Sanusi said the suspension was necessary to protect the integrity of the party’s disciplinary process and prevent interference.

The Ogun APC stressed that the action reflects its commitment to discipline, rule of law, and strict adherence to its constitution.
