Michael Olise fired home a late winner as Bayern Munich booked their spot in the FIFA Club World Cup last 16 with a 2-1 victory over Boca Juniors in Miami.
The Bundesliga giants, fresh off a record-breaking win over Auckland City, started brightly and had the ball in the net early, only for VAR to rule it out for a foul by Serge Gnabry.
But Harry Kane soon made Bayern’s pressure count, slotting home from close range after a loose ball in the box.
Kingsley Coman squandered a golden chance to double the lead, while Kevin Zenon and Kane both came close at the other end of a lively first half.
Boca, needing a response, got back into it in the second half when Miguel Merentiel beat Josip Stanisic and finished smartly past Manuel Neuer.
The match hung in the balance until Kane teed up Olise to smash home the decisive goal with seven minutes to play.
The win sees Bayern stretch their unbeaten run to nine matches and safely through to the knockout stage.
