The government of Ondo State is in a state of grief following the unexpected passing of its Secretary, Mr. Tayo Oluwatuyi. This unfortunate news was made public by Chief Press Secretary Mr. Suleiman Olarenwaju, who conveyed deep sadness over the loss of a devoted public servant.
Mr. Oluwatuyi held the position of Secretary to the Ondo State Government and was recognized for his steadfast dedication to the state’s progress and the well-being of its citizens. His efforts in various programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the populace will be cherished.
In response to this tragic event, governors from several states have reached out with their condolences to the Ondo State government and its leaders. They have expressed their sincere sympathies to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, acknowledging the significant role Mr. Oluwatuyi played in the governance of the area.
Oyo State’s Governor, Seyi Makinde, has offered heartfelt condolences to his Ondo State counterpart, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, after the passing of Secretary Tayo Oluwatuyi. He shared his sympathies with the Ondo State Government, the bereaved family, and the residents of Ondo State, praying for strength and solace during this challenging time. Makinde stated, “I extend my condolences to Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, regarding the untimely death of Secretary Mr. Tayo Oluwatuyi. My thoughts are also with the state government, the family of the deceased, and the people of Ondo State.”
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has also expressed profound sadness over Oluwatuyi’s passing. Sanwo-Olu praised the late Oluwatuyi as a committed and diligent public servant, emphasizing that his dedication to the people of Ondo State was characterized by sincere passion. He reminisced about Oluwatuyi’s earlier role as Chairman of Akure South Local Government Area and his service as Secretary to the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
It was reported that the late Secretary had been involved in a car accident on December 15, 2024 along Ife-Ibadan Road, and he ultimately succumbed to his injuries, passing away on January 4, 2025.
