OSIMHEN UNDERGOES SUCCESSFUL SURGERY AFTER ARM FRACTURE.
Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has undergone successful surgery on a broken
arm, his club Galatasaray confirmed on Monday.
The striker sustained a fractured right forearm during Galatasaray’s Champions
League clash against Liverpool at Anfield, and was forced off at half-time after
attempting to continue despite visible swelling.
The Turkish champions revealed that the operation, carried out by club doctor Yener
Ince went smoothly, with Osimhen now set to begin recovery under close medical
supervision.
Although no official return date has been given, the 25-year-old is expected to be
sidelined for over a month.
Osimhen, however, remains optimistic, suggesting during a livestream that he could
return within five to six weeks.
The former Lille OSC and Napoli forward has been in strong form this season,
scoring 19 goals in 29 matches, but is likely to miss Galatasaray’s key league clash
against Fenerbahçe on April 26.
