Otedola Meets Edun, Commends Efforts to Reform Economy

Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, has commended the efforts of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, and his Budget and Economic Planning counterpart, Atiku Bagudu, in fixing the Nigerian economy.

Otedola, in a post on X after he visited the minister in Abuja on Monday, recounted Edun’s tenacity, passion, and commitment to turning around Nigeria’s economy and delivering on President Bola Tinubu’s economic mandate of hope and prosperity for “all are evident”.

The Chairman of FirstHoldCo PLC also said Bugudu’s focus on ensuring that our “Budget of Renewed Hope” translates into real growth, jobs, and infrastructure through capital spending was commendable.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Manga, a spokesperson for the finance minister, in a statement, said Otedola affirmed the readiness of major Nigerian investors, including himself, to increase their commitments in sectors critical to inclusive growth and national competitiveness.

Manga also said Bagudu underscored the coordinated efforts of the economic management team to strengthen private sector engagement.

“The ministers and Otedola engaged in a robust discussion on Nigeria’s evolving investment climate, particularly the expanding opportunities in banking and power, including renewable energy,” the statement added.
