Palace Power Into Conference League Last 16.
Crystal Palace booked their place in the UEFA Conference League last 16 with a 2-0
win over Zrinjski Mostar at Selhurst Park, sealing a 3-1 aggregate triumph.
After a surprise draw in Bosnia, Oliver Glasner’s side were made to work in South
London.
Palace dominated possession in a scrappy first half and deservedly took the lead 10
minutes before the break, when Maxence Lacroix glanced at Adam Wharton’s
precise free kick.
Zrinjski offered little going forward, but Palace struggled to find a second goal, with
Ismaila Sarr denied on multiple occasions by Goran Karacic.
A late scare came and went before the hosts wrapped it up in stoppage time, as
Evann Guessand finished off a swift counter-attack to end the tie.
Palace now awaits either FSV Mainz 05 or AEK Larnaca in the next round, as their
European campaign gathers momentum.
