Palmeiras and FC Porto battled to a 0-0 draw in their opening FIFA Club World Cup group match, with both sides creating chances but unable to break the deadlock in their first-ever competitive meeting.
Weverton and Claudio Ramos were the standout performers, each pulling off a string of key saves to keep the match scoreless.
Palmeiras came closest late on, but Ramos was equal to everything thrown at him, including a superb stop to deny Murilo Cerqueira’s header.
Porto’s recent winning run came to an end, while Abel Ferreira remains winless in seven meetings with the Portuguese giants.
Both sides take a point, but will know they need more to progress from a tough Group A.
