Palmeiras completed a stirring comeback from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Inter Miami and secure top spot in Group A at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Both teams came into the game knowing a point would be enough to qualify, which led to a cagey opening.
But the match burst to life when Tadeo Allende broke through and scored following an injury to Palmeiras defender Murilo Cerqueira.
Luis Suárez then doubled the lead midway through the second half with a brilliant solo finish that had the Miami fans believing.
Palmeiras, however, rallied in the final 15 minutes. Substitutes Allan and Paulinho combined beautifully for a slick finish, before Mauricio stunned the home side with a thunderous strike that flew past Oscar Ustari.
The result means Palmeiras go through as group winners (W1, D2), preserving their unbeaten record.
Inter Miami, despite letting a two-goal lead slip, also progress to the quarter-finals but must now face reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Palmeiras, meanwhile, will meet domestic rivals Botafogo in a heavyweight Brazilian clash.
