Parma Mount Stunning Comeback to Hold Inter and Shake Up Serie A Title Race

Parma staged a remarkable second-half fightback to earn a 2-2 draw against Serie A leaders Inter Milan on Sunday, coming from two goals down to snatch a crucial point in their battle for survival—and throw the title race wide open.

Inter looked to be cruising at the break, with Matteo Darmian finishing off Federico Dimarco’s delivery for the opener, before Marcus Thuram’s looping effort doubled the lead after a slick move involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

But Cristian Chivu’s triple substitution at half-time transformed the contest. Adrian Bernabé pulled one back with a pinpoint finish from the edge of the box, and fellow substitute Jacob Ondrejka levelled moments later with a deflected strike that left Yann Sommer helpless.

Despite late pressure from the league leaders, Parma held firm to earn their fourth straight draw, moving four points clear of the relegation zone.

For Inter, the dropped points could prove costly, with Napoli now able to cut the gap at the summit to just one point if they beat Bologna on Monday.
