Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu is rethinking his plans at Southampton after an eventful season filled with ups and downs.

The towering forward, who shone on loan at Trabzonspor last season, had been eager to secure a move away from the Saints during the summer.

However, under the guidance of new manager Ivan Juric, Onuachu has begun to see a path forward at the club.

Reflecting on his journey, Onuachu told the Daily Echo:
“It’s been a season of ups and downs. Initially, I was focused on leaving the team, but things didn’t work out that way. I kept working hard, and slowly opportunities began to come my way.”

Onuachu credited former manager Russell Martin for reigniting his confidence.
“Russell believed in me and gave me chances, which I think I took well. Now, with Juric at the helm, I’m determined to make a real impact,” he added.

Despite earlier frustrations, Onuachu admits he has adapted to the challenges of limited game time and fluctuating roles within the squad.
“Whether it’s training with the B team or the first team, I give my all. That’s how I’ve always approached my career,” he explained.

The Nigerian international is now focused on proving his worth under Juric as Southampton look to climb the Premier League standings.

With his hard work and persistence paying off, fans may yet see the best of Onuachu in a Saints shirt.
