Paul Pogba is close to sealing a move to AS Monaco as the French midfielder eyes a return to football following an 18-month doping ban.
The 32-year-old is in advanced negotiations to join the Ligue 1 side on a two-year deal, with discussions progressing steadily over the past few weeks. Monaco are optimistic about finalising the transfer soon.
Pogba, a World Cup winner in 2018, has been training ahead of pre-season as he looks to relaunch his career.
He last featured in Juventus’ opening game of the 2023/24 season before being provisionally suspended after a random test.
Initially handed a four-year ban, Pogba successfully appealed the ruling, reducing it to 18 months.
He mutually parted ways with Juventus in November and has been eligible to play again since March.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport confirmed the banned substance found in his system, DHEA, had no performance-enhancing effect on male athletes.
