The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced an indefinite extension for the submission of expression of interest and nomination forms by aspirants ahead of its national elective convention.
This was disclosed in Abuja through a statement signed by Debo Ologunagba, Secretary of the Publicity Sub-Committee of the National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC).
He clarified that the new decision supersedes the earlier deadline of Friday, September 26, which had previously been set.
According to Ologunagba, the NCOC has not yet fixed a fresh deadline.
He stressed that once a new timeline is agreed upon, it will be officially made public to all stakeholders.
In addition to the extension, the committee has also approved a shift in the screening exercise for aspirants, which was earlier scheduled to hold on Tuesday, September 30.
“The extension became necessary to allow for adequate preparation and seamless arrangements in the conduct of the process. The new dates will be communicated in due course. All aspirants are therefore advised to take note and act accordingly,” the statement read.
Despite the changes, the PDP confirmed that its national elective convention remains scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
