The Phoenix Suns beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 108-105 on Monday, even though Anthony Edwards scored 40 points.
With Devin Booker out injured, Phoenix shared the scoring load. Mark Williams led with 22 points, while Collin Gillespie added 19 and Dillon Brooks had 18.
Edwards pulled Minnesota within one in the final seconds, but Gillespie’s free throws secured the win.
The San Antonio Spurs also claimed a tight victory, defeating the New Orleans Pelicans 135-132. Harrison Barnes scored 24 points and Dylan Harper added 22 off the bench.
Harper’s late layup put the Spurs ahead for good, while Derik Queen’s triple-double for the Pelicans wasn’t enough.
Saddiq Bey missed a potential tying three-pointer at the buzzer as New Orleans fell again.
In the day’s other game, the Indiana Pacers beat the Sacramento Kings 116-105.
Andrew Nembhard led the Pacers with 28 points and 12 assists, while Russell Westbrook recorded a triple-double for the Kings in a losing effort.
