Oscar Piastri stormed to a commanding victory at the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday, leading a McLaren one-two that extended his championship lead to 16 points over teammate Lando Norris.

Starting fourth, the Australian carved through the field to claim his third consecutive win, finishing over 37 seconds clear of third-placed George Russell in a Mercedes.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who started on pole, could only manage fourth after being passed by both McLarens.

“Two years ago we were the slowest team here. Now we’ve won by more than 35 seconds—it’s unbelievable,” said a beaming Piastri.

Drama unfolded early as Norris clashed with Verstappen at Turn 2, dropping places before recovering to second. Stewards opted against penalising either driver despite Norris’s protests.

Further down the field, Williams’ Alex Albon impressed with a fifth-place finish, while Kimi Antonelli took sixth ahead of the feuding Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Carlos Sainz and Yuki Tsunoda completed the top ten.

The race featured three virtual safety car periods, adding to the chaos, but nothing disrupted Piastri’s charge as McLaren confirmed their resurgence in style.
