Former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Pinnick revealed that a substantive coach for the Super Eagles will soon be appointed, ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Since June 2024, Augustine Eguavoen has been managing the team on an interim basis. Pinnick confirmed that the NFF is working diligently to hire a qualified foreign coach.
“The announcement will come soon, and it will be an enterprising coach,” Pinnick stated.
The Super Eagles currently sit fifth in Group C of the World Cup qualifiers, needing to win all remaining matches to stay in contention for a spot in the 2026 tournament.
