Postecoglou Points Finger at ‘Club Mole’ as Spurs Struggle to Build Winning Culture

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has sensationally claimed there’s a mole within the club leaking sensitive team information, undermining his efforts to reshape the club’s identity.

Speaking after Spurs’ 1-1 Europa League draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, Postecoglou said he has “no doubt” someone inside the club is leaking team news, including injury details that surfaced online ahead of Thursday’s match.

The rumoured absence of winger Wilson Odobert, who was ultimately benched, was the latest trigger.

“This has been going on since last year. We thought it had stopped, but it’s still happening,” he revealed. “And it’s not a player or an agent, the information is too specific.”

Postecoglou, known for keeping injury news tightly guarded, expressed deep frustration over what he sees as a breach of trust.

“Sometimes players don’t want their medical details shared. It’s not just unhelpful, it’s unacceptable,” he said.

The Australian boss believes the issue strikes at the heart of a wider cultural shift he’s trying to lead at Spurs.

“If you want to be part of a successful organisation, you don’t behave like that. You protect the team.”

Tensions have been simmering for weeks. From public run-ins with fans to his disdain for VAR and unsolicited phone cameras in his face, Postecoglou hasn’t hidden his discontent.

He’s also hit out at the perceived “negative agenda” around the club, pointing to how even a routine penalty decision in a win over Southampton was twisted into controversy.

Spurs currently sit 14th in the Premier League and visit Wolves on Sunday. But for Postecoglou, the bigger battle may be off the pitch, as he looks to weed out internal sabotage and instil a culture that backs the badge, not betrays it.
