President Bola Tinubu Honours Super Falcons with National Awards Cash and Homes

President Bola Tinubu has rewarded the Super Falcons with national honours cash gifts and housing following their historic 10th WAFCON title win.

At a reception held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja the president conferred the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger on all 24 players and 11 coaching staff.

Each member of the squad will also receive a three-bedroom apartment in the Renewed Hope Estate and the naira equivalent of $100,000 for players and $50,000 for technical crew members.

“You have inspired millions” the president said. “You represent the hope of today tomorrow and the day after.”

The president recalled the tense moments of the final. “When it was 2-0 I got very offended and restless. But after that penalty my strength and I believe that of the nation was lifted.”

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum through Chairman AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq also donated 10 million naira to each player and crew member.

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu described the team as role models while captain Rasheedat Ajibade dedicated the victory to every young girl who dares to dream.
