New York, NY – September 1, 2025 — In a landmark achievement for Nigeria and the African nonprofit community, Waka Community International Foundation is proud to announce its debut on the iconic Times Square billboard in New York City to celebrate its 4th anniversary.

This historic moment makes Waka Community International Foundation the first Nigerian organization to independently secure a paid advertisement on one of the world’s most recognizable commercial platforms—Times Square.

Founded in 2021 by health advocate and community leader Lorenz Mba, Waka Community International Foundation has grown into a global health and wellness movement, with members in over 48 countries. Through programs promoting walking, healthy eating, adequate hydration and quality sleep, the organization has empowered thousands to take control of their well-being while fostering cross-cultural unity.

“This billboard is not just a celebration of our 4th anniversary,” said Lorenz Mba, Founder of Waka Community International Foundation. “It’s a signal to the world that African-led community initiatives can shape global conversations about health, wellness, and purpose. Waka makes sense—and now the world is watching.”

The Times Square feature coincides with Waka’s continued expansion, digital platform development, and community outreach efforts across Africa, North America, and Europe.

Waka’s bold presence in Times Square is both a celebration and a statement: African solutions, powered by purpose, belong on the world stage
