Paris Saint-Germain have completed the €40 million signing of French goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from Lille on a deal until 2030.
The European champions confirmed the move on Saturday night, with the 23-year-old expected to eventually replace Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose contract expires next year.
Chevalier, named Ligue 1’s goalkeeper of the year for 2024-25, described the switch as a dream come true.
“Ever since I was small I wanted to play at the very highest level. I will wear this shirt with passion and ambition,” he said.
A product of Lille’s academy, the Calais-born stopper had a loan spell at Valenciennes before becoming first choice in 2022.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi called him “one of the leading goalkeepers in France and Europe” and a key part of the club’s long-term plans.
PSG, who won both Ligue 1 and the Champions League last season, face Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday.
