Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that forward Ousmane Dembele will be sidelined for around six weeks with a hamstring injury, while winger Desire Doue will miss four weeks after suffering a calf strain.
Both players picked up their injuries during France’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Ukraine on Friday in Poland.
Doue was substituted at half-time for Dembele, who later limped off in the 81st minute.
Dembele, a key figure in PSG’s treble-winning campaign last season with 35 goals and 16 assists in 53 appearances, is now set to miss a crucial run of fixtures.
PSG return to Ligue 1 action against Lens on September 14 before launching their Champions League title defence against Atalanta three days later.
Matches against Marseille and Auxerre also follow, leading up to a highly anticipated clash with Dembele’s former club Barcelona on October 1.
