Real Madrid came from behind to beat Mallorca 2-1 in La Liga, extending their flawless start to the season and securing a 10th consecutive home win over Los Piratas.

The Bernabeu crowd thought they had an early lead when Kylian Mbappe converted Trent Alexander-Arnold’s pass, only for the goal to be chalked off for offside.

Mallorca stunned the hosts soon after, as Vedat Muriqi headed home from a Pablo Torre corner in the 18th minute.

Los Blancos hit back before the interval. A short corner routine saw Dean Huijsen nod Alvaro Carreras’ delivery across goal for Arda Guler to equalise, and moments later Vinicius Junior weaved into the box and finished clinically to turn the game around.

Madrid had three goals ruled out across the contest, with Mbappe twice denied by offside and Guler seeing a rebound disallowed for handball.

Even so, the defending from Alexander-Arnold and Carreras at the other end ensured Muriqi and Samu Costa could not haul Mallorca level.

Brahim Diaz and Huijsen both went close late on, but Xabi Alonso’s side still ran out winners, making it three victories from three in the La Liga. Mallorca remain on one point, with their defeats coming against Madrid and Barcelona.
