Real Madrid Name Arbeloa as New Head Coach

Real Madrid have confirmed Álvaro Arbeloa as their new first-team head coach, marking a new
chapter at the Santiago Bernabéu following Xabi Alonso’s departure.
Arbeloa steps up after years within the club’s coaching structure. Since June 2025, he has led
Real Madrid Castilla, having previously worked across multiple age-group sides after joining the
coaching ranks in 2020.
His steady rise through La Fábrica earned him a reputation as one of the club’s most highly rated
homegrown coaches.
The former defender also boasts a strong playing legacy at Madrid. Between 2009 and 2016,
Arbeloa made 238 appearances and won eight major honours, including two Champions League
titles and a LaLiga crown.
