Nigerian singer Ruger has expressed deep concern over the safety of citizens as the festive season approaches, warning that kidnapping has become rampant in parts of the country.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Asiwaju crooner cautioned Nigerians—especially those returning from abroad for the holidays—to remain vigilant, predicting that the situation could worsen in December.

“I’m scared for people this December. Kidnapping has become a full-time business in some parts of Nigeria and it’s only gonna get worse this festive season,” Ruger wrote. “People will travel back to their villages from abroad and from many other places in Nigeria. These bastards will strike hard.”

Ruger’s warning comes as Nigerians gear up for the annual Detty December celebrations, a period known for concerts, festivals, and social events across the country. His statement has sparked online discussions about the growing insecurity and the need for stronger safety measures during the holidays.
