Aryna Sabalenka, Naomi Osaka, and Coco Gauff all secured their places in the Miami Open last 16, each advancing in different ways.

World No.1 Sabalenka made light work of Elena-Gabriela Ruse, taking the first set 6-1 before the Romanian retired early in the second due to a thigh injury.

The Belarusian, chasing her first Miami title, has yet to drop a set in the tournament.

Osaka, however, faced a grueling battle against American wild card Hailey Baptiste.

The four-time Grand Slam champion had to dig deep after losing the second set and falling behind in the decider, but she fought back to win 7-6 (8-6), 3-6, 6-4 in a two-hour, 59-minute contest—the longest women’s match of the tournament so far.

Meanwhile, third seed Gauff eased through with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Belgian qualifier Ysaline Bonaventure, keeping her bid for a maiden Miami Open crown on track.
