Saka Ruled Out of Liverpool Trip With Hamstring Injury

August 25, 2025

Arsenal will be without Bukayo Saka for Sunday’s trip to Liverpool after the forward sustained a hamstring injury in the 5-0 victory over Leeds United.

The 23-year-old is expected to be sidelined for up to four weeks, ruling him out of England’s World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia next month.

There are also concerns over captain Martin Odegaard, who was forced off in the first half against Leeds with a shoulder injury and left the Emirates in a sling.

While the Norwegian has not yet been ruled out of the Liverpool game, his fitness remains uncertain.

The setbacks come as a frustration for Mikel Arteta, though Arsenal believe both players will avoid long-term absences.

Saka’s issue is of particular concern after he missed three months of last season with a similar problem.

Arteta can call on a bolstered squad, with summer arrivals Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze adding depth to attacking options that already include Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman.
