Sean Brady shocked the London crowd with a dominant performance, submitting Leon Edwards in the fourth round of their welterweight bout at UFC London.
The 32-year-old American controlled the fight with superior grappling before sealing victory with a guillotine choke, handing Edwards his second consecutive loss after he previously surrendered his welterweight title to Belal Muhammad in July.
“I took this fight the day I got out of the hospital with my wife and newborn baby. I knew I could do this, and I think I belong in the top three for sure,” Brady said.
Brady was a late replacement for Jack Della Maddalena, who will now challenge Muhammad for the title at UFC 315 on May 10.
Despite promising a knockout for the home crowd, Edwards struggled to impose himself, leaving his quest to reclaim UFC gold even more uncertain.
