Senate Approves President Tinubu’s $2.2bn (₦1.77trn) Loan Request

The National Assembly has issued a speedy approval to the loan request from President Tinubu to borrow another $2.2bn or N1.77trillion loan from the world bank. The request was made on Tuesday November 19, 2024 and got approved within 48 hours. This request is part of a fresh external borrowing plan to partially finance the N9.7 trillion budget deficit for the 2024 fiscal year.
