SINNER BEATS MEDVEDEV TO CLAIM FIRST INDIAN WELLS TITLE.
World number two Jannik Sinner defeated Daniil Medvedev 7-6 (8/6), 7-6 (7/4) on
Sunday to win his first Indian Wells ATP Masters 1000 crown.
Both sets went to tiebreaks with neither player dropping serve, but Sinner proved
decisive at key moments.
The Italian rallied from 0-4 down in the second-set tiebreak to seal victory and
secure his first title of 2026.
Sinner did not face a break point throughout the one-hour, 55-minute contest and
now joins Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer as the only players to win all six ATP
hardcourt Masters 1000 events.
Medvedev, who entered the final on a nine-match winning streak after winning the
Dubai title, will return to the top 10 despite the defeat.
