Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss the Merseyside derby against Everton as he continues his recovery from injury.
Addressing rumors linking the right-back with a move to Real Madrid, Slot insisted Alexander-Arnold is fully focused on returning to fitness.
Speaking ahead of the clash at Anfield, Slot said, “Unfortunately, he is injured, otherwise people would be talking about his performances for England.
His priority now is his recovery, and we are working to help him return as soon as possible.”
The Dutchman also dismissed ongoing speculation about the futures of Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Mohamed Salah, stating that contract talks have not affected their performances.
Meanwhile, Slot expects a familiar approach from Everton under David Moyes, highlighting their nine-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.
“I expect them to play the same way, but this time they won’t have the backing of 50,000 home fans,” he added.
On the fitness front, Slot confirmed Ryan Gravenberch is available, while Alisson Becker has returned to training and will undergo a final check.
Conor Bradley has also rejoined the squad but will be assessed carefully due to his recent layoff.
Liverpool, currently 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League, are fully focused on their final nine games of the season.
Slot praised his squad’s response after recent setbacks in the Champions League and Carabao Cup final, emphasizing that every remaining fixture is now like a final.
