An unspecified number of travellers were reportedly killed on Saturday after a suspected bomb explosion along the Yar’Tasha–Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Yazid Abubakar, was quoted by Daily Post as confirming the incident in a telephone interview. He said there was an explosion in the area but noted that details were still sketchy as the incident had just occurred, promising to provide updates later.
Videos of the alleged aftermath of the incident have been circulating online, showing travelers fleeing the scene in panic.
