Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida, has taken a swipe at former Governor Aminu Tambuwal, describing his eight-year tenure as “an era of stagnation and asset stripping.”

Achida alleged that Tambuwal intentionally refused to conduct a proper handover to his successor, Governor Ahmed Aliyu, in 2023 to avoid being documented as leaving behind “a state riddled with abandoned projects.” He accused the ex-governor of attempting to frustrate the new administration.

The APC chairman, however, commended Governor Aliyu’s leadership, highlighting prompt salary payments, the implementation of the new minimum wage, and ongoing major projects, all achieved without borrowing.

On Tambuwal’s political future, Achida declared him “politically retired,” claiming he lacks a personal political base and depended heavily on former Governor Aliyu Wamakko to rise to power.

“No Abuja alliance, no media propaganda, no recycled coalition can revive a politician whose only legacy is propaganda and a collapsed state,” Achida asserted.
