Super Eagles forward Nathan Tella stunned Borussia Dortmund with a goal just 24 seconds into Bayer Leverkusen’s 3-2 victory, one of the fastest strikes in this Bundesliga season.
Tella, making a rare start, latched onto a perfect pass from Robert Andrich to put Leverkusen ahead in a thrilling opening. Patrik Schick doubled the lead moments later, capping an explosive start for the visitors.
Dortmund responded quickly through Jamie Bynoe-Gittens in the 8th minute, but Schick restored Leverkusen’s two-goal cushion just four minutes later.
Despite a late penalty from Serhou Guirassy in the 79th minute, Leverkusen’s defense held firm for the win.
The match showcased Tella’s impact, as the 24-year-old contributed not only with his early goal but also through dynamic movement and key duels during his 71 minutes on the pitch.
The victory came without fellow Nigerian Victor Boniface, sidelined by injury, but reinforced Leverkusen’s strong standing in the Bundesliga.
Tella’s standout performance hinted at his potential to play a bigger role for the team in the second half of the season.
