Popular Nigerian TikToker Peller has downplayed concerns over the temporary ban on TikTok live streams in Nigeria, insisting that his financial stability remains secure thanks to multiple brand partnerships and income streams.
The Nation previously reported that TikTok temporarily restricted access to its LIVE feature for Nigerian users during late-night hours, citing an ongoing safety investigation.
In a video on his TikTok page, Peller expressed surprise at critics who expected him to struggle financially, pointing to his numerous brand ambassadorships and endorsements—each reportedly worth at least N40 million. He stressed that his influence and income extend well beyond TikTok, ensuring long-term financial security.
“People are expecting me to be crying after TikTok banned live in Nigeria, thinking I’ll go hungry. I’m an ambassador to numerous brands, and none of my endorsements is less than N40 million,” he said.
Peller also acknowledged TikTok’s role in empowering Nigerian youth, enabling rapid audience growth and income generation. He cautioned that restricting nighttime livestreams could disrupt engagement and earnings for creators, noting that critics often overlook the platform’s economic impact on emerging talents.
“Many people will grow up on TikTok. You can’t grow on Instagram the same way. Before you make it there, you will post plenty… TikTok is easier to grow on,” he said.
The content creator reiterated his commitment to fans, frequently redistributing gifts received during live streams through giveaways. He called on authorities and platform managers to weigh the ban’s economic implications, highlighting TikTok’s accessibility and opportunities for young Nigerians.
