President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Ahmadu Musa Kida as the new board chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) following the dissolution of its existing board. Beyond his professional career, Kida is a former basketball player and served as president of the Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF).

The new NNPCL GCEO, Bashir Ojulari hails from Kwara State and was previously Executive Vice President at Renaissance Africa Energy Company. An Ahmadu Bello University graduate in mechanical engineering, he has held key positions at Shell and Elf Aquitaine—playing a significant role in the recent $2.4 billion acquisition of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC).
