Former President Donald Trump has unveiled an ambitious list of executive orders he plans to implement on the first day of his potential second term, signaling sweeping policy changes across immigration, energy, foreign affairs, and civil rights. The proposals, many of which have sparked controversy, highlight his intent to dismantle several Biden-era policies and introduce dramatic new reforms.

Mass Deportation and Immigration Overhaul
Central to Trump’s agenda is the launch of a mass deportation program targeting undocumented migrants. During a rally in New York, Trump declared his commitment to initiating “the largest deportation program in American history.” He also reiterated his plan to end birthright citizenship, a move that would challenge the 14th Amendment. Additionally, he pledged to reinstate Title 42, a public health law allowing expedited deportation of migrants.

Controversial Pardons for Capitol Rioters
Trump has promised to pardon individuals convicted for their involvement in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots, stating he would review cases “early on, maybe the first nine minutes” of his presidency. The proposal has drawn criticism, with opponents arguing it undermines accountability and the rule of law.

Ending the Russia-Ukraine Conflict
In foreign policy, Trump has claimed he could end the Russia-Ukraine war within 24 hours of taking office, citing his relationships with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. “They respect me,” Trump said, adding that the conflict is “dying to be settled.”

Economic Policies: Tariffs and Energy Independence
Trump intends to impose a 25% tariff on goods imported from Mexico and Canada, a move that has raised concerns about potential economic repercussions. Labeling tariffs as “the most beautiful word in the dictionary,” Trump argued they are necessary to address trade imbalances.

On energy policy, Trump emphasized a return to fossil fuel dominance, promising to increase domestic oil production to reduce energy costs. “Drill, drill, drill,” he declared during a Fox News interview, a stance that has alarmed environmental groups.

Revoking Biden’s EV Policies
Trump also vowed to cancel President Biden’s electric vehicle initiatives, which aim for 50% of new cars sold by 2030 to be zero-emission. Calling the policies “Crooked Joe’s electric vehicle mandate,” Trump pledged to prioritize traditional energy sources and American manufacturing.

Gender and Social Policies
Trump’s proposals include banning transgender women from participating in women’s sports and ending gender-affirming care practices. These stances have drawn sharp criticism from LGBTQ+ advocates, who describe the policies as discriminatory and harmful.

Reviving American Manufacturing
Trump promised to revitalize the U.S. auto industry by promoting “Made-in-America” vehicles and bolstering domestic energy production. “A vote for Trump means the future of the automobile will be made in America,” he said.

While supporters hail Trump’s proposals as bold steps to “restore America,” critics argue that many are legally and logistically unfeasible. As the 2024 presidential race heats up, Trump’s executive order agenda underscores his vision for a starkly different direction for the nation.
