UEFA has handed former Premier League referee David Coote a ban from all officiating activities until June 2026 after ruling he brought football into disrepute.
The 42-year-old was dismissed by PGMOL in December following leaked footage of him making derogatory remarks about Liverpool and ex-manager Jurgen Klopp.
A second video later surfaced, showing Coote snorting a white substance, reportedly during Euro 2024.
UEFA’s disciplinary body determined that Coote’s actions violated the principles of fair conduct, tarnishing both football and the governing body’s reputation.
In a January interview, Coote revealed his struggles with hiding his sexuality, acknowledging it led to poor decisions, including the controversial videos. He has since expressed remorse for his actions.
