Vitinha scored the first hat-trick of his career as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Tottenham Hotspur 5–3 in a chaotic UEFA Champions League encounter that ended the visitors’ unbeaten league-phase run.
Tottenham arrived in Paris hoping to respond after their heavy North London derby loss, and Richarlison gave them a 35th-minute lead after fine buildup play involving Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and PSG loanee Randal Kolo Muani.
PSG hit back before the break through a powerful Vitinha strike, but Spurs restored their advantage early in the second half when Kolo Muani fired in against his parent club.
That sparked a ruthless response from the holders, who turned the match around with two goals in seven minutes, Vitinha’s neat curling effort followed by Fabian Ruiz’s composed finish after Joao Neves forced a turnover.
Tottenham’s defence collapsed again as Willian Pacho added a fourth from a corner, though Kolo Muani’s second briefly threatened a late twist.
Any hopes of a comeback ended when Vitinha completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Cristian Romero handled in the area.
Spurs have now conceded 11 goals in their last three games, a worrying trend for Thomas Frank.
PSG, who have won seven of their last eight Champions League matches, finished with ten men after Lucas Hernandez was sent off for an elbow on Xavi Simons in stoppage time.
