A single Dušan Vlahović goal proved decisive as Juventus battled past Genoa 1-0 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, ensuring the Bianconeri head into the international break with a perfect six points.

In a first half short on quality, Genoa nearly struck first when Mikael Egill Ellertsson wasted a golden chance inside the box, while Federico Gatti and Jonathan David both missed opportunities for Juve before the break.

The second half brought more urgency, with Khéphren Thuram and Nicolae Stanciu going close for the hosts, but it was Vlahović who made the difference.

Rising to meet Filip Kostić’s corner in the 73rd minute, the Serbian forward nodded home his second goal in as many league matches.

Juventus might have sealed the result late on had Vlahović shown more composure, though Michele Di Gregorio was forced into one final stop from Caleb Ekuban at the death.
