Manchester City captain Kyle Walker is set to join AC Milan on loan for the remainder of the season, with the Italian club securing an option to make the move permanent in the summer.

The 34-year-old right-back, who has made 316 appearances for City, is expected to travel to Italy for a medical.

Walker last played for City on 4 January against West Ham and later expressed his desire to explore opportunities abroad.

Preferring a switch to Serie A over a potential move to Saudi Arabia, Walker will join Milan, who have also been linked with Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford but can only sign one UK player due to Italian registration rules.

Walker, a key figure in City’s six Premier League titles under Pep Guardiola, joined the club from Tottenham in 2017 for £50m and was named joint-captain in 2023.

Meanwhile, City have been active in the transfer market, spending £123m in January on signings including Omar Marmoush from Frankfurt, Vitor Reis from Palmeiras, and Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens.
