West Ham United are reportedly keeping a close eye on Chelsea center-back Tosin Adarabioyo as they prepare for potential defensive reinforcements during the January transfer window.

Under pressure to turn things around, head coach Julen Lopetegui faces mounting scrutiny at the London Stadium following a disappointing start to his tenure.

The Hammers have secured just four wins from their opening 14 Premier League matches, conceding 27 goals along the way.

A victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night is seen as crucial for Lopetegui to retain his position.

Despite the immediate focus on results, West Ham’s management is already planning for mid-season squad improvements, with Adarabioyo identified as a potential target to strengthen their backline.

The 27-year-old joined Chelsea from Fulham in the summer but has experienced a mixed start at Stamford Bridge, managing just 262 Premier League minutes so far.

However, he has made nine starts and appeared as a substitute twice across all competitions, showcasing his potential amid fierce competition for places.

With Wesley Fofana sidelined for the remainder of the year due to a hamstring injury, Adarabioyo could see increased opportunities at Chelsea in the coming weeks.

Nonetheless, West Ham are reportedly hopeful of convincing the Blues to sanction a loan move, offering Adarabioyo the chance for more consistent playing time.
