Matheus Cunha has been handed an additional one-match ban and fined £50,000 after admitting to improper conduct following his red card in Wolves’ FA Cup loss to Bournemouth, the FA confirmed on Friday.
Cunha, who initially received a three-match suspension for his altercation with Milos Kerkez, was penalized further for his reaction, which included arguing with referees, teammates, and staff before leaving the pitch.
The Brazilian forward, currently on international duty, has already missed two Premier League games and will now also sit out fixtures against West Ham and Ipswich Town before returning for Wolves’ clash with Tottenham on April 13.
Wolves, currently 17th in the Premier League, remain nine points clear of the relegation zone.
