Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed a deal in principle to sign Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare from Genk for €27m, with the 23-year-old scheduled to undergo a medical today.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Friday night that both clubs reached an agreement, paving the way for Wolves to complete the signing.

AC Milan had also shown strong interest after failing in their pursuit of Sporting CP’s Conrad Harder, but Wolves moved quickly to finalise terms.

Arokodare arrives after a prolific campaign in Belgium, where he finished as top scorer in the Jupiler Pro League with 23 goals and added seven assists across 45 matches.

His transfer situation this season limited him to substitute appearances, but Genk sporting director Dimitri De Condé had already admitted his departure was almost certain.

For Wolves, the move represents a major boost to their attacking options as they look to add firepower to their Premier League campaign.
