Nigerian rapper and singer Temidayo Omoniyi, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, has opened up about his early struggles, revealing that he once used the car he won from a music competition as a nighttime cab to make ends meet while studying at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

In a recent interview with popular streamer Shank Comics, the Zanku crooner reflected on his humble beginnings and how financial hardship pushed him to find creative ways to survive.

“Back in school, when there was no money for food, I would just wait till night and use the car I won from the Airtel One Mic Talent show to run cab from Abeokuta to Shagamu for ₦350,” he recounted.

Although winning the talent show gave him some recognition, Zlatan revealed that his real breakthrough came in 2017 with the release of My Body, his hit collaboration with Olamide.

In an earlier interview, the Zanku Music boss described the track as a defining moment in his career, crediting Olamide for delivering the “life-changing” verse that helped launch him into mainstream success.
