Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has urged security agencies to remain neutral and professional as political activities gather momentum.

He cautioned  that Osun, being the home state of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, must not be turned into a political battleground.

Adeleke made the call during the decoration ceremony of his Aide-De-Camp (ADC), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ahmed Bio Abdulraman, at the Government House, Osogbo.

The event was attended by the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Gotan; the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Igbalawole Sotiyo; the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Mr. Leye Adegboyega, and other service chiefs.

Commending the police for “consistently embracing professionalism,” the governor praised the Inspector General of Police and the Osun Command for their discipline and adherence to due process.

He singled out Commissioner Gotan for his “exemplary leadership style” that has, according to him, promoted peace and order across the state.

While acknowledging the synergy among security agencies in Osun, Adeleke insisted that law enforcement must not be compromised by partisanship.

“We should continue to maintain a level playing field. This is the home state of Mr. President. Mr. President belongs to all of us. Osun should not be turned into a battleground,” he stressed.

Turning to his ADC, the governor expressed delight at Abdulraman’s elevation, describing him as “an exemplary officer whose loyalty and discipline embody the values of the Nigeria Police.”

Adeleke added that the Force “remains a vital institution in Nigeria’s growth and stability” and deserves greater appreciation for its sacrifices nationwide.

In his remarks, Commissioner Gotan congratulated Abdulraman and reminded him that “promotions come with added responsibilities.”

He urged the newly promoted officer to uphold discipline and professionalism while assuring that the Osun Police Command would continue to respect human rights and the rule of law.

Gotan also pledged the Command’s readiness to sustain peace and order across the state, while commending the support of the state government.
