BARCA PUNISHES ESPANYOL TO OPEN NINE-POINT TITLE LEAD.

FC Barcelona seized control of the LaLiga title race with a commanding 4-1 derby
win over RCD Espanyol at Camp Nou.
Ferran Torres set the tone early, rising at the back post to head home from Lamine
Yamal’s corner before doubling the lead with a delicate finish after being picked out
by another sublime Yamal pass.
Despite their dominance, Barca were briefly pegged back when Pol Lozano
unleashed a stunning long-range strike beyond Joan Garcia to give the visitors hope.
But the hosts quickly restored control, with Yamal racing through to finish into an
empty net before Marcus Rashford added a late fourth to seal the emphatic win.
The victory moves Barcelona nine points clear at the top, while Espanyol’s miserable
run continues as they extend their winless streak.
