Dortmund Seize Control with First Leg Win Over Atalanta.
Borussia Dortmund took charge of their UEFA Champions League playoff tie with a
2-0 first-leg victory over Atalanta at Signal Iduna Park.
After a delayed kick-off, Dortmund struck inside two minutes as Julian Ryerson set
up Serhou Guirassy for his 16th goal of the season.
Guirassy later turned provider, racing clear before squaring for Maximilian Beier to
double the lead.
Atalanta threatened through Mario Pasalic but failed to respond, while Gregor Kobel
secured the clean sheet.
The result gives Dortmund a strong advantage ahead of the return leg in Italy.
